New Advocacy Leaders Event Series Launched
Congressional Management Foundation to Host Education Series Produced by Beekeeper Group
A new workshop series providing advanced level advocacy training, professional development, and networking opportunities for the public affairs community was launched today. The series will be hosted by the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) and produced by Beekeeper Group.

The series of four half-day workshops is tailored to senior advocacy, government affairs, and public relations professionals. Topics include “Breaking through on Capitol Hill: Making Noise vs. Making a Difference.”, “Mapping Your Political and Economic Footprint: Identifying Advocacy Assets and the Art of Modern Story Telling.”, “Getting Cats and Dogs to Play Nice in the Office: Integrating Your Lobbying and Grassroots Operations.” and “Learning the Lessons of Campaign 2012 and Transforming them to an Advocacy World.” The events will be hosted at the offices of Bloomberg Government and Verizon in downtown Washington, DC.
Presenters will be drawn from advocacy leaders within the public affairs and public relations industries including senior government relations practitioners, lobbyists, advocacy and non-profit professionals, new media and technology specialists, public relations consultants, academics, and policy makers.
“We aim to combine research in effective communications to Congress and qualitative presentations by experts,” said Bradford Fitch, President and CEO of the CMF. “Our goal is to improve the relationship, communications and understanding between citizens and Congress. One of the best avenues for achieving the goal is with the cadre of professional advocates who can, in turn, educate their supporters on best practices for interacting with Members of Congress and staff.”
“Each event will be a collaborative discussion between the expert presenters and practitioners in the audience. We will focus on higher level strategy, emerging trends, innovative case studies, with an emphasis on results and measurable ROI,” said Matthew Zablud, Partner at Beekeeper Group.
The series launches on December 9th, 2011 at the offices of Bloomberg Government discussing the topic, “Breaking through on Capitol Hill: Making Noise vs. Making a Difference.” The event features former Congressman Dan Mica and a panel of current Hill and district office staff identifying which types of constituent interactions are most influential.
