Credit Union National Association CUNA
Beekeeper Group worked with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) to create an online get-out-the-vote resource for credit union members and employees. This resource allowed credit union members and employees to check their voter registration status, find their polling places, request absentee ballots, and get information on their candidates. The site, creditunionsvote.com, provides an easy-to-use toolkit that allows people in the credit union movement to become more politically engaged.
Beekeeper Group designed the branding for the effort and also developed the website, which collects key information from users such as name, address, whether or not they are registered to vote, and Congressional district. This information can be shared with the appropriate credit unions or state league for additional outreach. Our team also designed creative assets for credit unions to use in their social media and email campaigns to promote the site.
A core component of this strategy was to have a non-partisan site that, while connected to the credit union movement, wasn’t branded by a particular credit union or a national association. This gives the individual credit unions the ability to promote the site and its voter tools without getting any “blowback” from the small percentage of members who may not welcome any political messages. As people become more polarized in America, it was important to provide opportunities to engage in the political space and build relationships with civic-minded credit union members without immediately diving into an issue.
The immediate results and usage have exceeded initial expectations. A post-election update to this case study will be coming later in 2022.
