Solve ME/CFS
As the pandemic began to affect everyday life in March 2020 and many of our clients had to cancel in-person fly-ins, we immediately began to think about how to pivot to virtual lobby day experiences. While the rest of the world was on lockdown, our clients’ advocacy issues continued to be of utmost importance, and even more so given the pressures of the shuttled economy. Our team of public affairs and advocacy professionals urgently started brainstorming ways to host a virtual advocacy week/day with an almost seamless transition.
In early April of 2020 we worked with SOLVE ME/CFS, on their advocacy week creating an at-home toolkit, moderating a virtual roundtable, and designing social media graphics and GIPHY stickers for social media.
For the at-home toolkit, we created a webpage where advocates could find everything they needed to participate in Congressional meetings from home. The toolkit included key talking points and advocacy tools. Participants could call, tweet, and email their Representatives and Senators from the comfort of their homes and with a click of a button.
For the virtual roundtable, we handled the configuration of the webinar platform, event branding, preparing the speakers and their presentations, and running the show the day of the event.
Beekeeper Group and the SOLVE ME/CFS teams were happy to learn that 110 advocacy week participants used the Twitter tool, 200 participants attended the virtual roundtable and, there were over 537K views on the GIPHY stickers created.
